THE Essex Invitation Petanque League title race will go down to the wire.
Three Elms B are in pole position following a succession of 3-0 wins, but after a good 3-0 win at Three Elms A, Onley Arms are a point ahead at the top of the table.
The Onley team of Graham Hills, Ian Humm and Trevor Blows won 13-7 in the triples, while in the pairs, Hills and Humm were not troubled in a 13-2 victory and the singles was even shorter with Blows winning 13-0.
In the final Bocking derby match, the Spinners beat Bocking Boules 2-1.
The triples was a close game with Malcolm Smith, Richard Tite and Ian Ruffle winning 13-9, before Boules took a point with Pat Brown beating Smith 13-9 in the singles.
In the pairs, at 4-4, Tite and Ruffle took a maximum six to lead 10-4 and pointed out at the next end to win 13-4.
