BRAINTREE Bullets BMX Club added the final jewel in their regional crown as they added the East Anglian club champion’s title to their list of achievements for 2016.

The club were clear winners from their nearest rivals - Milton Keynes- and had their points tally bolstered by some fantastic individual performances.

The first Bullets to claim a regional champion’s title were Cameron Parish in the nine to 12s and Hayden Challis in the 15 to 16s cruiser classes.

Challis was the most consistent rider among the younger cruiser riders and swept to victory ahead of club-mate Matt Goodwins.

The next regional title came from Lana Redgewell in the 17 to 29 ladies' class.

She was untroubled all day and took the win ahead of club-mate Isabel Potter.

The over-30 ladies saw Teresa Challis and Jen Cannons up among the finalists.

Oli Cutmore sped to victory in the combined cruiser class.

Cutmore holds the 17 to 29 class British and National Champion's titles already, as well as being the World number two and breezed to victory in the East Anglian Championships.

Dan Gilbert took second in the class behind Cutmore with Chris Potter third.

Julian Allen also rode in the combined cruiser class and was the first 40 to 44 class rider across the line and he also claimed a regional champion's title for the class.

On to the 20-inch classes and the first class win for the Bullets came with a thoroughly deserved title for Adam Gilbert in the 11-year-olds.

Cameron Parrish rounded off a great days racing by adding the third-place trophy in the class to his cruiser title.

The seventh Bullet to claim a tile was Goodwins in the 15s

He had already won the regional series title in the class, which he is riding up an age group in from the 14s, and used his powerful style to steam ahead.

Hayden Challis also added the third-place trophy to his haul.

In the girls' class, Macey Hinton was the first one home to also claim the regional title.

The final regional champion for the Bullets was crowned in the final race of the day in the Superclass.

Josh Butson went into the final as favourite as he had won two out of three of the qualifying heats and when the gate dropped on the main event he showed his class as he led from the off and was untroubled through to the finish.

Also making the podium in the class was Josh Wallis whose smooth style and technical agility put him ahead of the competition.
