While Witham bowed out of the the FA Cup with a disappointing display at Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday, they have made a solid start in Ryman League division north and will be hoping to bag a fifth division one win in a row when they visit Maldon and Tiptree tonight.
It is a start that has helped Witham move on from a difficult campaign last year when they were battling against relegation throughout, however, boss Adam Flint isn't allowing his team to think too far ahead.
He said: “The club only got 42 points last season and we’re already on 13, but we haven’t changed our targets.
“We had a vision at the start of the season that if we could be in the top ten at Christmas then we could see where we’d go from there, but we’re not getting ahead of ourselves.
“We have to keep breaking it down.
“I don’t look to see who we have got in two weeks time as I’m fully focused on what’s immediately ahead of us.
“We’re only six games in and we have to keep feet on the ground.”
