JESSE Trayler recovered from a poor start as he competed in round nine of the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship at Oulton Park.

The racer from Great Dunmow placed his BMW 21st on the grid in qualifying but things did not go to plan as the race got under way and he lost seven places off the start.

Trayler knew he had to start pushing hard to make up lost time and places and he made four passes within the opening laps.

With nine laps now remaining he was closing those down ahead but still had a lot to do and hopes of a top-ten finish faded.

However, he continued moving up through the field to 21st and when title rivals Ian Hutchinson and Taylor Mackenzie collided with each other and crashed out on the final bend, the Essex man crossed the line in 19th spot.

Trayler is set to be in action again at Donington Park this weekend.
