BRAINTREE racer Kevin Cable is placed 12th in the British Formula One Sidecar Championship after the sixth round at Mallory Park in Leicestershire.

The Cable Racing team saw driver Cable joined by passenger Guy Pawsey from Witham.

Judging by the weekend’s performance they are gelling well and a steady two-part qualifying put them in 14th place for the races.

A really strong performance in race one earned a ninth place in the opening event and race two was even better for the Essex pair as they claimed seventh place.

Cable said “It was a really positive weekend.

"Guy’s doing really well and the bike is working well.

"We bettered our times in nearly every session over the weekend, so things are looking good for the last three rounds.”

Guy added: “I’ve really enjoyed this weekend.

"It’s great to be back on with Kev and we know that we can get faster as the rounds go on.”

The results place the team 12th in the championship ahead of the next round at Donington Park in six weeks.
