BRAINTREE Golf Club progressed to the semi-finals of the Leslie Wood Plate competition after overcoming Chelmsford on countback.
The Stisted men won 3-2 at home and despite a loss by the same score at Chelmsford, they edged the tie by two holes after a countback.
Meanwhile, Alison Holborn, off a handicap of 30, won the first prize at Lady Captain’s Day with 41 points.
She finished one ahead of Amanda Jones (22) and Shirley Jiggins (17), with Jones taking second spot on countback.
The mens’ Sunday Stableford was won by Kevin Gould with 38 points off a handicap of 19.
Trevor Whiting (5) was second with 37 while Adam Crane (2) finished third with 36.
Chris Cooper and his guest Chris Collins, both off six handicap, hit top form to win the Braintree Guest Day with 46 points.
