BRAINTREE Football Club made a flying start and soared to victory in their Braintree Open Darts League clash at Eagle B.

The visitors began with a 2-1 win in the pairs, followed by a win in the triples and wrapped up the singles and overall match points with wins for Alan Dewar, Phil Holmes and Graham Mills.

Bocking Club lost 3-0 in the pairs against Cressing Social Club but had hoped of turning it round after drawing the triples and a win for Phil Watkins in the opening singles.

However, it wasn't to be as Cressing took all of the remaining six singles games.

The Wagon and Horses took the the pairs against Legends, who then won the triples to make the match all square going into the singles.

After losing the first game, Legends went on to win the remaining six to claim the singles and match points.

Wethersfield Raiders took the pairs 2-1 at Horse and Groom, before a draw in the triples and singles wins for both clubs left the overall match outcome dependant on the final games of the night.

Mark Worster's 2-1 win in the sixth sealed the singles for Horse and Groom, but with the Raiders' Andi Thomas winning the final game of the night, the overall match finished in a draw.

After losing the pairs 2-1, a win in the triples gave the Retreat the advantage going into the singles against Swiss Bell and that was extended with wins in the opening two singles.

Wins for the Swiss Bell's Jacki Brighton, Russ Farmer and Ann Farmer squared the overall match, but victories for Andy Camp and Dave Benfield gave the match and singles points to the Retreat.

Noyley Sports claimed the pairs, triples and opening two singles at Wethersfield Club and wrapped things up with further singles wins for Graham Chinnery, Ted Ullmer and Jon Islip.
