THE Essex Invitation Petanque League's two Bocking sides both missed out on places in the Knockout Cup semi-finals.
Bocking Spinners lost 2-1 in the quarter-finals to Thorley, with Richard Tite providing a consolation win for the Spinners in the singles, 13-6, while Bocking Boules were beaten 3-0 by Billericay U3A B.
Little Totham Swan and Three Elms B complete the semi-final line-up.
In the league, Onley Arms had a 2-1 win over Three Elms A.
In the triples, Steve Tooley, Neil Morgan and Trevor Blows completed a 13-2 win, before Blows ran away with the singles game with a 13-3 victory, but Ian Humm and Tooley lost 13-9 in the pairs to deny the Onley Arms top spot in the league.
