A QUARTET of Braintree and Bocking Swimming Club members made the Regional Championships at Norwich with results that both the swimmers and their club very proud.
The four were Charles and Samuel Rennie, Nancy Neave and Euan Higgs.
Charles, although a little off par, still put in creditable swims and he will only have gained from the experience, but the most outstanding swims came from his younger brother, Samuel.
He smashed his short course times to gain final places in the 50 metre and 100m breaststroke, while also hitting a personal best (PB) in the 200m freestyle and was unlucky not to make the 200m breaststroke final.
Neave only just qualified for the butterfly event but went on to finish the final in fourth place, just finishing outside a medal place and also claimed a PB in the freestyle.
Probably the most improved swimmer is Higgs, who had PBs in both the 50m and 100m butterfly.
The club were proud of their swimmers' achievements, but head coach John Lowe is setting sights higher for the next 12 months with regional qualifiers in double figures for 2017.
He said: "As the club gets stronger, the expectancy is for the number of qualifiers to treble next year."
