BRAINTREE Bullets BMX Club saw some new national champions crowned as they ventured to Peckham in South London for rounds seven and eight of the British BMX Series.

On track, there were some great personal achievements.

Freia Challis was the only female Bullet to make the finals and she dominated the seven to eight girls’ class as she took the win in both days of competition.

The class wins over the weekend were enough to give her the seven round wins she needed to clinch her first national title.

Also claiming national titles was Seb Pantlin in the nine to 12 cruiser class and championship 12s class as he went unbeaten all weekend in both.

The Wethersfield local is the most successful rider in the country at this time, only dropping two laps all season.

Cam Parrish and Joseph Harris also made the cruiser finals on the second day of racing.

In the 11s, Adam Gilbert was among the top contenders for a finish in the finals and kept the Bullets fans riveted on both days.

He took the lead and controlled the races both days to take maximum points in an unbeaten run.

On the second day, Parrish also made his first national A final in the class.

Up into the 15s and Christian White missed out on the finals on day one, but came back strongly on day two to take his first national final win from the gate.

His showed true determination as he swept to the lead from the outside gate.

Ollie Rowe also took to the finals in the 16s and rounded off his weekend with a fifth place.

The youngest Bullet in the finals - in the six and unders - was Olly Cates, who was consistent with a fifth and sixth and the oldest - in the Veterans class - was Bullets coach Julian Allen, who made the A finals on the second day.

Allen claimed a fifth-place finish after a B final win on day one.

The last of the Bullets to make the finals were Oli Cutmore and Shane Redgewell in the 17 to 29 cruiser class.

Cutmore is a cruiser specialist and led the finals in fine style on both days.

Redgewell took a third and fifth over the weekend.

In the 15 to 16s, Hayden Challis was super consistent as he rode to fourth on both days.
