Barney Williams (in action for Welling) has joined Braintree Town
Jamie Day feels his first new signing since becoming Braintree Town manager is exactly the type of player that the Iron need.
Right-back Barney Williams has joined the club from Welling United to become the first new addition of the summer.
The 21-year-old defender is well-known to Day, as he introduced him as a 17-year-old into the first team when he was Welling manager at Park View Road.
Day said: "Barney is a tenacious full-back, that typifies what we're looking for at Braintree.
"I know our fans will quickly take to him and I can see him playing at a higher level in the future."
