BRAINTREE Bullets BMX Club riders made the trek to Cumbernauld, Scotland for rounds five and six of the British Series and bolstered their position in the national club standings.

The club started the weekend fourth but they are now closing in on the top of the table in second place with six rounds to go.

Freia Challis dominated the seven to eight girls’ class again, winning in both days to make it four wins out of six rounds, while the youngest Bullet in the finals, Olly Cates, took an eighth on day one and a sixth on day two in the six and unders.

Seb Pantlin was back on fine form as he went on to take top honours in the 12s and in the nine to 12 cruiser class to keep his focus on the national titles.

Cam Parrish also made the final in the cruiser class, finishing seventh and sixth, while Hayden Challis made his first A finals in the 15 to 16 cruiser with eighth and fifth places.

In the 17 to 29 cruiser class ,Oli Cutmore impressed with a pair of first-place rides to keep the title in his sights.

He was pursued both days by Shane Redgewell in second place, while in the equivalent female category, both Lana Redgewell and Isabel Potter rode well to take top-six placings.

In the 11s, Adam Gilbert went into the A finals among the top contenders for a podium finish and his powerful style suited the track as he rode to second on both days.

The 15s saw Christian White continue his great run of results as he followed a seventh-place finish by taking a career best result in second.

Following up his A final placing in Birmingham, Julian Allen made the finals again.

He got the start of his life on day one and carried momentum to take third, which he followed up with a fourth on day two.

The last of the Bullets to make the finals were Shane Redgewell and Josh Butson in the 17 to 24 class.

Butson had been looking in contention for a podium finish when he clashed with a fellow competitor and fell, but Redgewell dug in mid-pack and capitalised on the clash as he rode to a fifth-place finish.
