BRAINTREE Rugby club's under-13s ended their season with a comprehensive 41-19 victory over Thurrock.

They performed brilliantly in front of the large partisan crowd.

The first half was fairly even, with a converted try apiece, but Braintree started the second half well and began to take the game away from the visitors as they scored a further six tries.

Harry McLagan ran in three scores and there was one apiece from Callum Smit, Rafe Donnelly, Harry Plester and Harvey Ellis, who also converted three of the tries.

Thurrock put a further two tries on the board late in the game, though, as Braintree began to tire.
