Two long-standing club records were shattered at Braintree and Bocking Swimming Club’s 25-metre sprint night.
Charles Rennie broke the 13/14 age record in the 25m breaststroke swimming as his time of 15.44 seconds bettered Hugo Dockerty’s previous best from 2012 of 15.53s.
And Finlay Rudge was also rewriting the club’s record books.
Like Rennie, Rudge was also setting a new best in the 13/14 age group as he completed the the 25m butterfly in 13.75s.
That broke Ian Mckenzie’s 1987 record of 13.81s.
No other records were broken on the night but it wasn’t through lack of trying with some of the other Braintree and Bocking swimmers coming very close.
