Braintree Rugby Club may have some selection dilemmas ahead of their return to Essex League division one action at Canvey Island today.

The Black and Ambers were left without a competitive league fixture last weekend, but enjoyed a 55-7 friendly win against Old Brentwoods at home.

The hosts had an altered line-up for the game and the depth now in their squad will provide them with choices for their return to league duty.

Chairman of Selectors, Dave Gilder, said: “We had to make a fair few changes from our previous game due to players being unavailable through injury or work commitments.

“But with more and more players returning and becoming available for selection, the greater depth in our squad is starting to pay dividends. It was another great confidence booster (against Old Brentwoods) which should stand us in good stead for our visit to Canvey Island.”
