Garry Kimble said he doesn’t want to keep “chopping and changing” but admits that he is still looking to add new players to his Witham Town squad if he feels they will improve it.

The Town boss doesn’t want to have a constant stream of new faces coming into his team this year, but is still rebuilding after losing the majority of his players following their relegation from the Ryman League premier division last season.

Recent departures of Lewis Godbold and Danny Emmanuel have led to more rebuilding, but Kimble doesn’t want to make further changes if they aren’t necessary.

He said: “All over the park, we are looking stronger now, but I’m still looking.

“I’m always looking to see if we can strengthen the squad.

“However, I don’t want to keep chopping and changing as I want a core of settled players around me.”

There have been a few recent newcomers to the Town line-up.

Hussan Nalbant scored at Phoenix Sports after joining Witham following spells at Maldon and Tiptree and Heybridge Swifts in the early part of the season.

Kimble said the 6ft 2in forward needs game time to improve his fitness, but felt he could give them a presence up front.

The Town boss added: “He gives us something else as he’s a tall lad and holds the ball up well, but he needs fitness and we’re hoping that will come as he plays more.”

Felix Ogeah has also bolstered Witham’s forward options after re-joining for a second spell at the Village Glass Stadium from Ryman League division south side Chipstead, while centre-half Perry Dunn has come in from Hullbridge Sports.

Kimble has also added young central midfielder Max Bradford, who impressed while facing Witham in a representative game, to his squad
