Witham Town manager Garry Kimble admits he may have to make changes to his team’s pre-match preparations.
Kimble was scathing about his players’ collective performance in the early part of their Ryman League division north fixture at Phoenix Sports last weekend.
They raised their game in the second half and overturned a deficit to win 2-1, but Kimble knows they won’t get away with a slow start if they come out with the same attitude in their home game against league leaders Cray Wanderers tomorrow.
So the Town boss is looking at whether he needs to alter the routine that his players go through before games.
“Could it be the warm-up?” he said.
“Could it be the mentality and that they don’t fancy it?
“It’s something that we have to look at and I’m going to have a think about how we approach our pre-match preparations.
“We have to be starting with a high intensity and get in the opposition’s faces.
“That’s going to be vital on Saturday as Cray Wanderers are flying at the top of the league.
“Cray are a good side, but if we perform like we did in the second half at Phoenix sports then we should be OK.
“Perform like we did in the first half, though, and we’ll get mullered.”
Full-back Tom Cocklin is likely to be missing for the game against Cray Wanderers as he is facing two to three weeks on the sidelines with a shoulder injury.
