Although Braintree Football Club lost their pairs match against Eagle B, they came back to take the overall match honours in the Braintree Open Darts League.

The Football Club responded to their early setback by claiming the triples and the first three singles and even though the Eagle replied with singles wins for Alex Chandler and Chris Cook, a 2-1 win for Colin Dowsett wrapped up the singles and overall result.

Bocking found life difficult against high-flying Legends as they lost the pairs 2-1, the triples then the singles 7-0.

Wethersfield continued their winning start to the season with a 2-1 win in the pairs against visiting Retreat while the triples had the teams playing out a draw.

The singles saw fortunes swinging either way before the Restreat’s Dave Benfield won the sixth game to make it three apiece.

However, with no other players available, the Retreat had to concede the final game to give Wethersfield the singles and match points.

The Welsh Princess were hosts to the Swiss Bell and the visitors were soon off the mark with a 2-1 win in the pairs followed by a draw in the triples and a win for Tony Holland in the opening singles.

However, the Welsh claimed the next five games for singles and overall match honours.
