The Swans’ Robbie Turner was crowned the Summer Singles Knockout champion as the Braintree Open Darts League finals and presentation evening took place at Cressing.

Turner was facing Cressing’s Rhys Hayden in the best of 11 501 leg singles final and was trailing after the opening exchanges.

However, with Turner finding his form, the match went to five legs apiece and in an exciting decider, it was Turner who proved the stronger to be crowned champion.

The pairs final was an all-Cressing affair with Sam and Rhys Hayden playing Shane Smith and Tony Bamsey. The Haydens soon found their form, taking an early lead and went on to win the match 5-2.

The blind pairs final saw Cressing’s Tony Bamsey and Braintree Football Club’s Andy Slade facing Bocking’s Phil Watkins and the Welsh Princess’ Andi Thomas.

Although Bamsey and Slade won a couple of legs, they were unable to match the scoring and out shots of Watkins and Thomas, who won 4-2.
