Braintree Town are set to include two new additions in their squad when they head to Bromley in the Vanarama National League tonight.

Centre forward Jordan Chiedozie has joined the Iron from League Two side Cambridge United and Championship side Brighton and Hove Albion have lent them young central defender Tom Dallison.

Braintree manager Danny Cowley said the pair would come into his squad for tonight’s game.

Chiedozie is no stranger to the Iron boss after the 21-year-old made a memorable impact under him at Concord Rangers last year while on loan there from AFC Bournemouth.

He scored eight goals in eight games for the Canvey side, including a stunner for them in their FA Cup first round proper tie that earned a replay against Mansfield.

That goal helped earn Chiedoze a move to Cambridge United, but he ended last year on loan in the Conference Premier at Dartford, where he scored four goals in two games and Cowley is delighted to now have him at Braintree.

He said: “We signed him at Concord and he did really well for us with eight goals in eight games.

“He scored that wonder goal in the FA Cup and that got him the move to Cambridge.

“We know him well and he is quick, has excellent movement and is as brave as they come.

“He’s desperate to score goals but he’s been a bit frustrated at a lack of game time he’s had at Cambridge so he comes to us with a point to prove.

“I think that’s great because that focuses him.

“He can be anything he wants to be and we will work hard to get him right.

“He was progressing in the right direction when he left us before and we expect to get him back there now.

“He’s with us for a month initially, but with a view to taking him until January.”

Dallison is the other new addition Braintree will be taking to Bromley after joining from the Seagulls as Cowley looks for cover in the centre of his defence while Matt Fry recovers from the knee injury he suffered against Tranmere last weekend.

Cowley added: “Tom has come up through the Arsenal Academy and got a two-year deal with Brighton.

“He played 12 times (at Dartford) in the Conference last year and has had a successful pre-season with Brighton.

“He is one we’ve been aware of for some time and comes in as a direct consequence of Matt Fry’s injury.

“He is six foot four tall, enjoys defending and is composed on the ball so we’re pleased to have him on board.”
