A quartet from Rayne Carpet Bowls Club proudly flew the flag for their county as they travelled from Essex up to County Durham for the All England Championships.
The fours team of Maxine and Don Poulter, Daphne Staton and Ken McDonnell were victorious in the Essex Championships earlier this year and earned the right to represent their county on the national stage.
The standard of bowling was very high, with Cambridgeshire going on to win, while the Rayne team earned a podium finish for Essex as they came third with a run that included a victory against the eventual champions.
Anyone who would like to join the Rayne Bowls Club can go to Rayne Village Hall on Friday evenings or ring Jenny Green on 01371 870402.
