A great effort by all their 35 riders at the latest two rounds at Burgess Park in Peckham, saw Braintree Bullets move top of the national club team standings for the first time in the British BMX Series.

Seb Pantlin maintained his lead in the national points standings for 11-year-olds as he kept things consistent with a pair of second-place finishes.

Those results were matched by the youngest Bullet out on track, Freia Challis, in the seven to eight girls as she took two second places.

Adam Gilbert was fired up after winning at the previous round in Scotland and came out charging in the ten-year boys’ class as he rose to the top again on the first day and followed that with a second spot.

In the super-competitive 13s class, Matt Goodwins finished second on the first day and the 14s saw Ollie Rowe edge second ahead of team-mate Charlie O’Grady in third.

The last Bullets out on track were in the Championship class against the fastest riders in the country.

Oli Cutmore held great track speed in the men’s and rode to a superb third on day one with a fifth on day two, while Taylor Andrews also took himself to the finals on both days, taking seventh and sixth places.

Kelsey Dixon had a great weekend in the Championship women’s class as she took the B final win on the first day and just missed out on repeating the feat on the second day as she finished second.

Lana Redgewell also had a fine weekend of racing in the class as she chased down Dixon for a pair of thirds.

In the veterans’ class, 41-year-old club coach Julian Allen scored sixth on day one, but a crash on day two saw him in the B final, where he finished second.

Shane Redgewell had earlier begun the points haul when he continued his winning ways in the 15 to 16s cruiser class, while Oli Cutmore also took top points in the 17 to 29s class and Chris Potter also made his way to the podium.
