Mitch Brundle will be back at Braintree Town next year.

The 20-year-old former Bristol City and Cheltenham Town defender impressed during his first season with the Iron and he has now re-signed for the coming Vanarama National League campaign.

Braintree manager Danny Cowley is pleased that he will have the services of a versatile member of his squad, but admits that he needs to find the best role for Brundle within his plans next season.

Cowley said: “Mitch has signed on tonight, which is important as we look at him as being a fantastic asset to have.

“We see loads of potential in him and physically he is unbelievable.

“He will also work with the Academy next year which is also great.

“He is effectively a professional footballer who young players can look up to and it will be great for them to work with someone like that.

“For us now, it is about finding his best position in our team.

“Within the squad, you see him as a right-back, but we see goals in Mitch.”
