Charlie Turnbull Memorial Trophy
Holders SC Crittall retained their tight grasp on the Charlie Turnbull Memorial Trophy after a 2-0 win against Tiptree Elite in the Braintree Sunday League.
Tiptree had early chances to score, but it was a header from Matt Staines that broke the deadlock and gave Crittall a half-time lead.
It was another positive start by Elite after the break as they looked for an equaliser, but clear-cut chances were hard to come by and when Bradley Hickman doubled Crittall’s lead the silverware was safe as they lifted the trophy for the sixth time in a row.
