Anthony Little claimed Braintree Golf Club’s first Order of Merit event of the year when winning the 200 Club Stableford at Stisted.

Off his four handicap, Little won with 41 points, finishing three ahead of David Clark (23), who edged out another four-handicapper, John Earl, on countback.

The seniors held their Spring Meeting fourball betterball with Peter Eveling and Mike Collard top of the class with 45 points.

Phill Townsend and Ray Childs took second place with 44 on countback from Steve Allen and Lawrence McCartney, with outgoing captain Len Grindal and Steve Lythell on 43. Nearest the pin on the tenth hole was won by Eveling.

At the seniors’ annual meeting which followed, Jim Rowe was elected the section’s captain for 2015 with Andy Little as vice-captain.
