There aren’t too many occasions when you can get something for nothing but that’s exactly what Braintree Town will be offering tonight.

The Iron are giving free entry to everyone when they host AFC Telford in their Vanarama Conference Premier clash at the Miles Smith Stadium and are hoping that a bumper crowd come out to show their support for their local team.

Braintree have won acclaim for the scheme they have run over the past few seasons in offering free season tickets for under-16 fans, but this will give people of all ages the chance to see Alan Devonshire’s team in action without it costing them a penny.

Chairman Lee Harding said they wanted to showcase themselves to the people of Braintree and hoped that plenty from the town and beyond would come along to show their support.

He said: “We feel the support is out there and we’re hoping that it generates some interest in the club.

“We want the message to get out there that we’re doing this and we’ll have people out and about in the town handing out tickets and fliers advertising it.

“We want people to know that you can get in for free to this particular Braintree Town game.”
