Witham Town have added extra pace to their forward line with the signing of former Queens Park Rangers and Birmingham City youngster Marcel Henry-Francis.

The 22-year-old had spent three years at QPR as a trainee before signing professional forms at Birmingham, where he stayed for a year before heading to Crystal Palace for another year.

Henry-Francis has also spent time on loan at Dulwich Hamlet and Witham assistant boss Brad King said their new signing would add a different dimension to their attacking play.

King said: "Marcel has pedigree, he is lightning quick and has an eye for goal.

"He now gives us a plan B as we lacked pace up front when needed.

"He wants to work hard and put himself in shop window.

"I spoke to (Dulwich Hamlet manger) Gavin Rose about how he done on loan last season and he spoke highly of him."

Witham are due to return to Ryman League premier division action tonight when they host Hendon at the Village Glass Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm).

Hendon beat Witham 2-0 when they met in the reverse fixture on Saturday.
