Witham Town manager Garry Kimble will be making changes to his line-up for tonight’s Robert Dyas League Cup tie against AFC Sudbury at the Village Glass Stadium, but he would rather not have to.

Kimble was damning in his assessment of his team’s first-half performance in their 3-2 Ryman League premier division defeat at Wingate and Finchley on Saturday and would prefer his players to come out and show a response.

However, some alterations will be imposed.

Kimble said: “We’ll have to make changes as we have three or four players who can’t play.

“Jamie Guy, L’Heureux Menga and Lewis Dark will all be unavailable as they’ll be cup-tied so I will definitely have to make changes.

“However, if I had my way, all the ones who played on Saturday would be playing.

“I want them all to show me something and that they want to be in the side.”

The Town boss said he did expect Luke Callander to start after the striker returned in the second half at Wingate and Finchley after several weeks on the sideline with a hamstring problem.

Kimble added: “Luke came on at half-time on Saturday and he had no reaction in his hamstring, so he will be playing tonight.”
