Witham Hockey Club men’s captain Richard Marshall reflected on taking a point away from home, but rued missed chances in the first half of their 2-2 draw at Potters Bar in East League division two south.
With only two games going ahead in the division due to freezing temperatures, Witham took advantage of their fixture being played by bagging a point out of a well fought game that saw them twice take the lead.
Man-of-the-match went to Marshall after a dominant display in the midfield and he said: “It was unfortunate that we couldn’t hold on to the lead.
“However, the way in which we played was very pleasing and if we had taken our chances in the first half, it would have made for an easier afternoon.
“Any points away from home are welcome, though, and we will continue to improve and work hard throughout the season.”
