Four goals in a hectic first-half spell were Witham Town's downfall as they lost 5-2 at Bognor Regis Town in the Ryman League premier division.
Witham were better than the scoreline suggests, but were up against it after the hosts went 4-0 ahead with a quartet of strikes between the 17th and 29th minutes.
It was a depleted Witham side, who travelled with several first-team regulars out due to work commitments, but they battled back and gioals by Nikki Beale and Ellis Brown made it 4-2 at the break.
Witham continued to fight at the start of the second half, but were unable to get their reward and, having seen Jack Paxman sent off for a second caution, were hit on the break late on as Bognor put an end to any further comeback.
