But they battled hard to secure a 1-1 Ryman League division one north draw at Park Drive.

The home side were then reduced to ten men on 46 minutes when Gavin Greenfield was sent-off.

But Alex Anderson threw the home side a lifeline when he hit an equaliser on 78 minutes.

Brightlingsea Regent had to come from behind at Soham Town Rangers to earn a 2-1 win.

Jack Bridge gave the home side a first-half lead on 27 minutes.

However, Oliver Canfer equalised at Julius Martin Lane on 54 minutes.

And it got better for the visitors when Russell Malton put Regent ahead 19 minutes later.

Burnham Ramblers fell to a 2-0 defeat at Tilbury.

The Dockers took the lead at Chadfields through Harry Cook on 52 minutes.

And it was Cook who doubled the home side’s lead 18 minutes later.

In the Ryman premier division, Witham Town brushed aside the challenge of Bury Town at the Village Glass Stadium.

Luke Callander hit a hat-trick in the home side’s 4-1 success.

However, it was Ellis Brown who set Witham on their way in the seventh minute.

The lead didn’t last long as the visitors’ Justin Miller equalised a minute later.

But Callander hit two quick goals, on ten and 15 minutes, to put the home side in charge.

Callander then wrapped the game up when he completed his hat-trick on 50 minutes.
