Ryan Peters has revealed that a “tweak” to Braintree Town’s preparations had the desired effect in ending their long wait for a Vanarama Conference Premier victory.
The Iron’s 1-0 win against Wrexham ended a ten-match winless league run and they’ll be looking to build on that at AFC Telford United tomorrow and then at home against Welling on Tuesday.
Taking just three points from a possible 30 before the Wrexham win was a difficult spell for Braintree, but right-back Peters, who wore the captain’s armband in place of the injured Kenny Davis last weekend, said some team bonding had helped them turn a corner.
He said: “It was very welcome as it was a long time since we had won a game.
“To finally get a win was great and hopefully we can use it to catapult ourselves up the league.
“We prepared slightly differently in training and came into the game feeling confident."
