Sean Marks is confident that Braintree Town’s players can bounce back positively from the sticky patch that they have found themselves in recently.

A run of no league wins from ten games is far from the form that the Iron would have liked as they have suffered from a horrendous run of injuries, but Marks feels they operate best in adversity and is sure that an upturn will come soon.

In their three seasons in the Conference Premier, Braintree have faced testing times before and Marks, who has had his own injury problems to work through this year, knows team spirit and the managerial skills of Alan Devonshire will lift them from the current predicament.

He said: “We all club together when our backs are against the wall.

“Sometimes when things are going well we can take things for granted a bit. Maybe the attitude changes a bit.

“At the moment we just haven’t been picking up results, but when our backs are against the wall our team spirit always comes together and Devs’ management skills come into play. Him and Keith (Rowland) are vital parts of it and we always seem to get it together when we’re up against it and then go on runs.

“We’ve been in difficult situations before when we’ve been written off and somehow got out of it. ”
