Witham Town manager Garry Kimble is looking forward to seeing his new strike partnership develop after bringing in two loanees to the Village Glass Stadium.

Luke Callander has joined for a month from Vanarama Conference South side Chelmsford City and has been joined by Southend United youngster Ellis Brown, who marked his arrival at Witham with a goal on his debut in the FA Trophy win at Royston on Saturday.

Kimble said: “Ellis is a lively first-year pro at Southend and offers us something a bit different.

“I’ve got Shami (Pedulu), but I still see him as more of an impact player at the moment.

“He has done very well for me and will get more chances, but I needed something different and I feel Ellis can give us that.

“With Luke Callander coming in as well, I think we’ve got plenty going forward now.

“I will play two up front now I’ve got them there and Luke and Ellis will cause problems.”

Kimble said he has Tom Wraight and Kurt Smith out with ankle problems, but hoped they may return for Saturday’s Ryman League premier division trip to Metropolitan Police, while Paul King has been given two weeks rest to recover from a number of niggling injuries.
