It's a second premier division win for Garry Kimble's team and this one is well deserved

What a chance for Witham!

Long punt clear is won by Kurt Smith and falls nicely to Pedulu, but the young striker snatches at his shot and drags it wide.

Should have been 2-0 though

All pressure is on the home goal but Wingate shooting isn't troubling Guest yet.

Still 1-0 to Witham

9:09pm

Witham really pushing here.

Great run and cross by Shami Pedulu just scrambled away from under Wingate crossbar.

Leon Antoine header just wide from resulting corner

9:00pm

Once again Antoine is inches from making contact with a cross that would hhave been a goal - Witham looking for a second

The ball breaks to Danny Emmanuel in the Wingate box and he turns and fires low into the net for a 1-0 lead after 51 minutes.

8:56pm

GOAL and it's Witham who take the lead.

8:53pm

Wingate almost make early breakthrough at start of second half.

Ball is pinging around the Witham area but a combination of Martyn Guest's saves and people throwing bodies in front of efforts keeps it at 0-0

Somehow it stays 0-0 as Leon Antoine is inches from making contact with great corner by Wraight. Any contact with that and it's 1-0 but it stays 0-0 after 32 minutes

8:19pm

Good cross after strong run by Tom Wraight is just cut out with Shami Pedulu lurking in front of goal.

This is better from Witham

8:16pm

Wingate and Finchley had won four games in a row and sat third in the table beforethis game, but so far haven't really shown that form.

Then again neither have Witham shown much, but there have been a few encouraging signs from the hosts as they start to push forward more meaningfully.

8:07pm

It's been very scrappy so far and neither side have shown much in teh way of a goal threat.

It's still 0-0 after 19 minutes and not much to shout about so far.
