Witham Town will have an old score to settle when they head to VCD Athletic tomorrow.

Following a 3-3 draw at Harrow Borough on Saturday and Bank Holiday Monday’s 1-1 draw against Leiston, Garry Kimble’s team are still unbeaten after stepping up into the Ryman League premier division this season.

But they have a showdown against one of their old division one north foes coming up.

They were edged out in the race for the division one north title by VCD last season, but the Kent side are yet to win at the higher level and manager Kimble feels it should be payback time for his players, who are yet to be beaten in the premier division.

He said: “VCD are a bit of a bogey team for us so we want to beat them after what they did to us last year.

“It was a bit of a bad tempered affair at their place at the end of last season and I felt they were a bit arrogant, but they haven’t started the best.

“They’ll be looking for their first win, but we go there knowing we owe them one.”
