Braintree Bullets BMX Club are rejoicing after two of their members were crowned as British champions.

The club’s riders competed at the British BMX Championships at Cyclopark in Gravesend, Kent and finished fifth out of 57 overall, which is their highest finish for over a decade.

The first of the prestigious individual titles went to Kelsey Dixon in the 17 to 29 Female Cruiser Class after she took the win on the fast and technical track.

Lana Redgewell also made the podium in the class as she chased hard to take third, while Isabel Potter was sixth and Meg Vaughan seventh.

The second champion of the weekend was Ollie Rowe, who took the win in the 13s after a nail-biting drag race for the finish line.
