Alex Lynn held his nerve at the Hungaroring to keep his remarkable run of GP3 Series qualifying successes going.

For a fifth race in a row, the 20-year-old racing driver from Dunmow placed his Carlin car on the front row of the grid for the feature race in Budapest later this afternoon.

He had to bide his time, though, as with less than ten minutes of the half-hour qualifying session left, he was sat in provisional 25th place.

However, a blistering lap - that would have once again impressed watching Formula One bosses -  soon bumped the Red Bull Junior Programme driver from Essex up the standings to provisional pole.

Even though compatriot Richie Stanaway produced an even quicker lap, Lynn's effort was good enough for another position on the front row of the grid.

Heading into today's feature race in Hungary, Lynn leads the championship by 30 points from second-placed Jimmy Eriksson.

The race will take place at 4.20pm (British time) on Saturday.
