Braintree Cricket Club's players know they need to find consistency to get their Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division two promotion campaign back on track.
Back-to-back defeats have hurt the Panfield Lane side's quest for division one cricket, but they know they need to rediscover - and hold on to - the top form they know they can produce.
Vice-captain Will Jackson said: “Had we won our last two, we’d have been 40 points better off and in third place, so it’s clear that it has hit us, but we are only one win off third place still.
“We also still have to play the top three – Frinton, Easton and Halstead – and if we win those games we’ll be back up there.
“We have won big games this season, but we need to find consistency.
“We have lost to Elmstead Grasshoppers twice now and we should be beating teams like that.
“You need to beat sides from lower down the table if you want to do well in this league.”
Braintree head to Exning tomorrow.
