Bradley Quinton’s days of playing for Braintree Town appear to have finally come to an end.
But the Iron’s record appearance holder has one more night of glory planned and hopes the club’s fans turn out in force at a testimonial night for him when Ipswich Town visit the Amlin Stadium on Tuesday.
The 35-year-old has been forced to retire as a knee injury has finally taken its toll.
But while the fact that he won’t add to the 569 appearances he has made in a Braintree shirt has hit him hard, he is glad he has the chance to bow out in front of the club’s fans on Tuesday.
He said: “It’s 13 or 14 seasons I’ve had here and the record appearances for the club with 560-odd games, so it’s going to be emotional for me."
