Braintree Town have made a change to their pre-season schedule with their game against a West Ham United XI being moved back.
The game against Iron boss Alan Devonshire’s former club was originally due to be played on Saturday, July 19, but the game will now take place at the Amlin Stadium on Tuesday, July 29, kicking off at 7.45pm.
Braintree’s players and trialists will start their pre-season matches with a Saturday double-header on July 12.
The Iron squad will visit Thurlow Nunn League premier division side Stanway Rovers for an 11.30am kick-off and follow this with a 3pm kick-off at Thurlow Nunn League division one side Long Melford.
Arrangements for the games on both Tuesday, July 15, and Saturday, July 19, are still to be confirmed, but the club have said both will be at home to Football League opposition.
Alan Devonshire will then send a side to visit United Counties Premier League side Peterborough Northern Star on Tuesday, July 22, before a return to the Amlin Stadium the following Saturday for the visit of Cambridge United and then the game against West Ham.
Braintree complete their pre-season schedule at Conference South side Wealdstone on Saturday, August 2, with their Conference Premier campaign getting under way a week later on August 9.
