Witham Town manager Garry Kimble will be doing everything he can to lift his players for tonight's Ryman League division one north semi-final against Needham Market.

The game will take place at Witham's Village Glass Stadium as they bid for a place in the premier division.

However, Witham will have to lift themselves after the disappointment of just missing out on the division one north title on the final day of the campaign on Saturday.

Despite leading the way heading into the last game of the season, Kimble's team fell just short after drawing at cheshunt while rivals VCD Athletic beat Romford 6-0 to claim the silverware.

The play-offs still offer them a promotion chance, but Kimble admits he may have to pick his players up after the weekend's disappointment.

He said: “My job is now to dust everyone down and get them up for the play-offs.

“The play-offs are a bit of a lottery and it’s about the side that is up for it on the day.

“But we have home advantage and I will do everything to get the side ready and up for it.

“We have Needham and they are our bogey side, we drew and lost to them this season.”
