  • Live updates from the Amlin Stadium as Braintree Town host Gateshead in a crunch Skrill Premier play-off battle

Iron will be frustrated by that one as they just coulddn't find the killer touch in front of goal. They dominated all night and had by far the better of the chances but they just couldn't find the back of the net. Dan Holman's penalty that hit the post was the closest they came.

That's it and it stays goalless. Braintree Town 0 Gateshead 0

Three added minutes here but it's still 0-0.

MISSED - Holman hits the post from the spot and then heads just wide from the rebound

Penalty Holman is bundled over - big moment this

It's getting a bit frustrating for Braintree as they haven't been able to make the most of their chances so far. 15 minutes to go.

Braintree will be hoping this isn't deja vu as they dominated the game between the two at Gateshead two weeks ago, weren't able to make the most of their chances and got hit by a late sucker punch.

64 mins Caution for Dan Sparkes for a foul

62 minutes two great opportunities for Braintree in quick succession. First Jordan Cox's snap shot from edge of the box forces Bartlett into superb save and then Dean Wells' header is cleared off the line

Halifax have taken the lead at Grimsby in the night's other play-off tussle.

Braintree are working so hard in midfield to cut down any Gateshead threat before it reaches the back four. Great to see the whole team contributing to the defensive duties.

Attendance here at the Amlin Stadium tonight is 901

It's also 0-0 between Halifax and Grimsby so Braintree stay in sixth - one place outside the play-offs - if it all stays the same at the end of the night. Lots of football to come though.

There hasn't been too much between the sides, but Braintree have had by far the better chances. So far they haven't found the cutting edge they need up front, but won't be too unhappy with how it has gone do far.

Half-time comes round with the game poised at 0-0.

Just the one minute to be added.

It stays 0-0 after 30 minutes but Braintree are still having the better of the limited chances. Chez Issac curls a shot just over but Bartlett could see it was always going over.

That was close for Braintree. Sparkes' corner is met by the head of Matt Paine. His bullet header downwards is well saved by Adam Bartlett with his feet though.

Braintree creating a bit more pressure. Useful cross from Sparkes flashes across the face of goal but no-one can get a telling touch.

It's settled down here and neither side are creating too much in the way of chances at the moment.

Good to see Braintree's record appearance holder Brad Quinton back among the Iron's line-up tonight. He's only made one appearance this season in the FA Cup at Newport after knee surgery, but has been at Enfield Town in the Ryman Premier rebuilding his fitness under old Iron boss George Borg.
