- The Iron have travelled to Halifax on the last leg of their 1,400 mile three-game trip up and down England this week.
Three games in six days and having travelled 1,400 miles as well as holding down day jobs and Braintree have had a last gasp defeat at Gateshead, a 4-0 win at Southport and a 0-0 draw at Halifax. They should be very proud of that. They are in the play-offs and have now pretty much made up the fixture backlog they had accumulated.
Braintree had to work very hard for that point in the end but it moves them back into the Skrill Premier play-off places. Alan Devonshire's men are back in fourth spot and that's an incredible achievement given the amount of travelling they have had this week.
That's it. The final whistle goes with Braintree securing a 0-0 draw at FC Halifax Town.
Game is closing with Braintree being pushed back. They'll be hoping there's no repeat of the late heartbreak they suffered at Gateshead on Saturday.
There's four minutes extra to play beyond the 90.
We're into the last five minutes now but there have been some hold-ups and there could be some time added.
The way it stands, a 0-0 draw will move Braintree up to fourth in the table, while a point keeps Halifax in seventh.
Braintree make a second change as Alex Jakubiak comes on. The Watford loanee replaces Luke Daley as we enter the last ten minutes.
Braintree having to soak up some pressure at the moment. Ther's 15 minutes to go now.
It's still 0-0 with 20 minutes of the second half gone, but Halifax have been much more of a threat since the break. They've made a couple of changes but so far the Iron defence is dealing with it.
Halifax begin second half on the front foot and the Iron's defence is being worked harder, but Braintree have a chance at the other end before sean Marks is deemed to have fouled the keeper.
Back under way at the Shay between FC Halifax Town and Braintree Town.
Braintree make a change to start the second half as QPR loanee Josh Laurent comes on for Dan Sparkes.
Pretty even first half ends 0-0 between Halifax and Braintree. The visitors have gone the closest with that effort by Dan Holman as he beat the off-side trap but dragged his shot wide with the goal at his mercy.
Roberts heads just wide for Halifax as it stays fairly even with ten minutes of the first half to go.Still 0-0 though.
Iron are pressing at Halifax as Holman remains the main threat and fired just wide of the target with a good effort.
Other team news for Braintree tonight is that James Mulley, who came on from the bench on Tuesday, is out with a dead leg, but Watford loanee Alex Jakubiak is back after being unavailable at Southport and Jordan Cox is on the bench after recovering from a back problem.
Best chance of the game so far and a bit surprising that Holman doesn't find the back of thenet given the form that he has been in recently.
Dan Holman springs the off-side trap and advances on the home goal, but after getting himself into a wonderful position drags his shot across the goal and it stays 0-0.
It's 0-0 after the first 20 minutes of the game in Halifax and one would suspect the Iron may not necessarily mind if it stays like that after the full 90.
Braintree have made just one change from the starting line-up that won 4-0 at Southport on Tuesday.
Kenny Davis is out with an infected toe while Luke Daley returns to the starting side.
