We're not feeling the play-off pressure: Holman
Despite getting themselves into the thick of the Skrill Premier promotion race with some excellent results in recent weeks, Braintree Town striker Dan Holman feels there is no pressure on the team.
They moved up to fourth with a 0-0 draw at FC Halifax Town on Thursday night as a gruelling week of travelling ended in a positive way.
While he wasn't able to find the target at the Shay, Holman’s goals in recent weeks have helped place the Iron among the pack of teams chasing one of four play-off spots at the end of April.
But while others may be feeling the heat, the former Histon striker feels there’s none of that being experienced in the Iron’s dressing room.
He said: “We have no pressure on us as no-one expected us to do as well as we have.
“We go into games knowing that, but we don’t fear anybody in this league.
“All we’re doing is focusing on one game at a time and seeing where it takes us in a few games time.
“It’s a tough run that we’ve got coming up and we’re not facing too many teams down the bottom, but I don’t think the lads are feeling any pressure.”
Having completed their marathon week of three away games and travelling 1,400 miles in six days, Braintree are due to continue their push for the play-offs with a home game against Salisbury on Saturday.
The game at the Amlin Stadium kicks off at 3pm.
