Witham Town know a place at the summit of Ryman League division one north could be theirs if they can maintain their wonderful run of form on home turf tonight.
No-one has visited the Village Glass Stadium and beaten Garry Kimble’s team in a league encounter this year and they will hope to keep that run going when Tilbury visit tonight.
There is also the added incentive for Witham of knowing they can overtake long-time leaders VCD Athletic at the summit of division one north.
The current leaders head to struggling Ware tonight, but if they slip up there like they did against Harlow on Saturday and Witham win, Kimble’s side will go top with three games still in hand on VCD.
Striker Anthony Anstead may be a doubt for tonight’s game, though, after limping off during Witham’s 4-1 win against Waltham Forest on Saturday.
