Kyvat's success fires up Lynn's Formula One ambition even more
Alex Lynn’s ambition to become a Formula One driver has been fired up by the success of a young racer who has already made the step up that he hopes to take in the next few years.
The 21-year-old from Dunmow said watching Daniil Kyvat become F1’s youngest-ever points scorer in the opening race of the 2014 season at Melbourne in Australia earlier this month has made it clearer to him that he has what it takes to join the Russian youngster in motorsport’s showpiece event.
Lynn said: "What Daniil did just makes me want it even more as I beat him in quite a few races when we raced together in Formula Three last year."
Lynn joined the Red Bull Junior Driver Programme at the end of last year – the same route that four-time F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel and current F1 stars Daniel Ricciardo and Kyvat took to get to the pinnacle of motorsport.
Lynn has been at Estoril in Portugal this week getting his first taste of driving his new car for the Carlin team as testing starts in preparation for the 2014 GP3 Championship.
