Witham Town will head into the unknown tonight as they bid for a sixth straight Ryman League division one north victory.

Cheshunt will visit the Village Glass Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm) and while they are the only team in the division who Witham haven’t faced yet this season, manager Garry Kimble thinks he has a fair idea of what to expect.

He said: ““I’ve spoken to other managers and I think Cheshunt are in a false position.

“We could get turned over if we don’t apply ourselves.

“They are the only team who we haven’t played yet so we don’t know much about them, but I’m told they like to get the ball down and pass it.

“They are a young side, but that means they will have energy and we will have to match every bit of that energy.

“We can’t afford to be lacklustre like we were against Thurrock or Erith and Belvedere.”

Witham come into the game on the back of five straight wins and know that a sixth victory could move them to the top of the division one north table if VCD Athletic slip up against Redbridge.

Kimble said he expected to have striker Anthony Amstead available for tonight’s game against Cheshunt, but didn’t expect to make wholesale changes from the side that won 2-1 at Burnham Ramblers on Saturday.
