Goals by Kris Newby and Tom Wraight made sure it was a happy return for Witham manager Garry Kimble to one of his former clubs.
The Witham duo struck either side of half-time as Witham won 2-1 at Burnham Ramblers to keep the pressure on Ryman League division one leaders VCD Athletic.
With most of their promotion rivals winning, it was important for their own hopes that Witham claimed three points.
And despite Jay Kynaston getting a consolation with 20 minutes remaining, the visitors delivered the goods.
The three points saw Witham stay second in the table and just two points behind VCD Athletic with two games in hand.
Their next outing is due to come with a home game against Cheshunt on Tuesday.
