Witham Town are now just two points behind Ryman League division one north leaders VCD Athletic with two games in hand after a profitable week ended with another three points for Garry Kimble's team.
First-half goals by Luke Olley and Kris Newby and one after the break for Dean Green saw Witham cruise to a 3-0 win against Waltham Abbey at the Village Glass Stadium.
It ended a run of four home games in eight days for Witham that had brought 12 points and with their promotion rivals all dropping points in the last week, Kimble's team are looking in an increasingly strong position for title honours this year.
They are still unbeaten in the league at home, but are on their travels tomorrow when they head to Kimble's former team, Burnham Ramblers.
